OUR STORY
Out on the Town is a division of Postal Wizards Inc., a family-owned direct mail company established in 1992 and located in West Babylon, NY. The concept for Out on the Town was conceived by Roxanne Williams in April 2023. Frustrated by the difficulty of finding new and exciting activities on Long Island, Roxanne envisioned an online event calendar where all the information about fun things to do could be found in one place. While Long Island is rich with entertainment, events, and live music, Roxanne often found out about cool events, like theme-based rave parties, weeks after they had occurred. Despite her efforts to search the internet, there was no easy way to find up-to-date activities for young adults. Being a partner in Postal Wizards, she knew that Dave and Wendy had the expertise to create and market such a website across Long Island.
Postal Wizards began humbly in a garage in 1992 and evolved through various company structures and sizes, always remaining a family-owned organization. Today, Postal Wizards is a successful mail service provider, allowing room for other projects like Out on the Town, which aims to connect Long Islanders throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties and the five boroughs. This project follows the theme of communication, which is also evident in another ongoing project, Good Scrolls Inc., with its e-commerce sites promoting good communication and supporting humanity.
The Williams family members are musicians, singers, artists, and writers, with an entrepreneurial spirit that naturally led them to own and run various companies. Each new venture reflects the family's values and creativity. Dave and Wendy initially aimed to create a business where they could work together and involve their future family. Starting with a construction company and other ventures, they eventually founded a direct mail service provider that adapted to technological advances, leading to an online presence.
The family has worked together since 1986, starting the mailing service company in 1992. Throughout this journey, they were blessed with four children, who later became trusted partners in their ventures. The company has endured significant challenges, including the 9/11 tragedy, the 2008 economic meltdown, an attempted business takeover in 2015, and the COVID-19 pandemic of 2019. Their greatest success has been sticking together and doing whatever it took to persevere.
